We had over a week of celebrations for the kids' birthdays. No wonder I'm always tired when it's over! We celebrated Alice's birthday at my mom and dad's the day before her actual birthday.
For her birthday meal she chose Charlie's chicken, mashed potatoes, and rolls.
In the middle of the week we met up with our old neighbors for a birthday lunch!
The next Sunday was Jack's birthday meal, and he chose sushi. (The rest of us had pizza.)
He wanted an ice cream cake, but it didn't come with decorations, so he put "Jack Copyright 2004" on it!
We wrapped up the celebrations with Jack's party this week at Dave and Buster's.
The view from the other end, so I could make sure to get everyone! These are all such great kids!
They all had a great time playing games!
He wanted donuts instead of a cake.
He asked if they could make Steven Universe and sushi donuts. They did a great job!
This book was so funny!
One of his friends made him a sculpture! It was amazing!
Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate. We're so fortunate to have such great people in our lives!

If you know Jack, you know that this was probably the biggest surprise he could have gotten for his birthday. He got his first Harry Potter book when he turned 8 and has gotten the next one each year on his birthday. (9, 10, 11, and 12 posts!) This year we decided he could have the last two at once, so he was surprised when he got up at 5:30 and saw them.
A couple of hours later I let him wake up Jay and Alice and he opened his presents from us. He got some books...
...and some toys and a CD player and concert tickets. He was one excited kid!
He and I went to see the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie together.
Not too old to take a selfie with his mom!
We stopped by Petsmart and he found a rock on the poop bag dispenser. This was his second rock of the week!
Official 4:30 picture!
We went out for sushi for supper.
Playing in the fountains after dinner
We wrapped up the evening with the first Harry Potter movie!
It's hard to believe that tiny little baby is a teenager now! Thankfully he's still sweet!
Happy birthday, Jackabooter! We love you!

Alice has been SO excited about her birthday this year! She got up early before Jay left for work to open her presents from us (some things for her American Girl doll, a new bag, and a new Kindle).
She also got a new bracelet, which she wore to the movies that morning.
This year it worked out to have her party on her actual birthday. She chose a Trolls theme!
Photo booth time!
They made necklaces (with these awesome cords).
Alice taught them how to make Trolls headbands! (Find the super easy instructions here.)
They turned out so cute!
Our new yard stuff got a workout!
(Not the greatest lighting, but she really wanted to sit with her banner behind her!)
3:31: Exactly 8 years old!
That evening we had our end of the year picnic for 4H, so she got more time to play with friends!
It was a great day! Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Our May has been really full! Here are all the odds and ends pictures that never made it into a post--starting with the Lego "May" that Jack made for the library!
Dave and Buster's Half Price Day!
In Alice's gymnastics class they had a photo shoot one day.
Her picture made it onto the summer camp flyer!
Cinco de Mayo
We went on the Mom & Me Hike again this year!
We went skating twice this month and both times Jack won free passes by winning Red Light, Green Light!
Dress up fun!
We went to a new (to us) park and splash pad in Owasso.
Last day of swimming lessons--until we start back this week!
Last school year lunch with Great-Gran
We went to see the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. It was really funny, though I prefer the old kids better.
Jack and I went to the Kiddie Park. He had just seen It, so we had to take a picture with the clown.
Last train ride of the night!
We finally got a new swing set!
We also got a climbing dome.
Hobo is really enjoying the dome, too!
The kids got to drive the go-kart at my mom and dad's.
It was Alice's first time to drive herself!
We went to the pool and it was so cold the kids decided to get in from the slides.
You know it's cold when you want to wrap up while you're in the water!
We spent today in Kellyville at 4H's District Contest Days. Jack entered in speech and Fabric and Fashion.
He won first place for his dog costume!
June is going to be full of fun, so I'll do my best to stay on top of posting!
